About the Author

Maree Birch is the author behind the Christmas Down Under world. She now resides on the east coast of Australia and still enjoys Christmas' on the water in sweltering temperatures.
The idea of a children's picture book explaining to antipodean children why there is no snow at Christmas came to her in 1986, when her son Nicholas said on Christmas eve, "Mummy, I hope it snows tonight."
